Can I take this opportunity to thank you for your support in selecting me as your candidate for the Retired Members Seat on the Executive Council of our great union. It is an honour for me to represent you in this election.
Our union was built on lay member democracy and that is something I believe is worth fighting for. Since Unite was formed in 2007 retired members have had to argue for every position that has been gained up to and including the seat on the EC. Rest assured that if I am successful in the ballot for the seat I will continue to fight for more rights for Retired Member within this Union.
I look forward to the election campaign to hold this seat for the United Left and if successful in the election, representing all Retired Members on the EC.
