The march demanded an end to Israeli genocide  and a total halt of arms shipments to Israel.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign said: “On the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration we are marching from Whitehall to the US Embassy, Israel’s main backer today, to demand an end to Britain’s historic and ongoing complicity in Israel’s genocide.”

Trade union banners on the march included Unite, Unison, UCU, and CWU.

Jewish people formed part of the protest against the Israeli state’s slaughter of more than 43,300 people, mostly women and children, and the injury of over 102,000 others, according to local health authorities.

Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza. It has now invaded Lebanon and is pursuing the same murderous tactics against the Lebanese people.

Holocaust survivor and descendants of holocaust survivors made a powerful statement at the start of the march.

Unite nationally had not sent any officers or resources to the march, nor was there an officially mobilised and organised contingent from our union. Instead a group of activists marched behind an unofficial banner with the slogan “Unite members say, Stop the War”.
