We need a workers’ plan for a “just transition” to a green economy

New research by the Scottish TUC “Our climate, our jobs: safeguarding Scotland’s manufacturing jobs through climate action” shows how thousands of Scotlands manufacturing jobs are at risk without greater ambition to challenge the climate emergency.

Up to 16,700 direct jobs could be offshored (plus another 7,800 in supply chains) if Scotland falls behind other countries in the greening of manufacturing and heavy industry.

A Wales TUC report found that all workers in Wales will be affected by the Welsh government’s net zero goal.
