Unite members employed by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust went on strike in a day long protest over the trust’s plans to slash hundreds of pounds from their pay.
On Wednesday, 6 June, assistant ward managers, staff nurses, health care assistants and occupational therapists, members of Unite and Unison, joined picket lines at Reaside Clinic and Ardenleigh from 8am to 11.30am - in a protest over the trust’s refusal to negotiate the cut to the ‘recruitment and retention primia (RRP) payment to staff working in regional secure units (RSU).
